Desalter Power Unit

A desalter transformer is a specialized power transformer used in oil refineries, particularly in crude oil desalting units. Its main purpose is to supply high-voltage electrical energy to the electrostatic coalescer inside the desalter.

A desalter transformer steps up voltage (typically from low voltage like 240V or 415V to high voltage ranges of 12–25 kV or more) to create a strong electric field in the desalter vessel.
This electric field helps separate water, salts, and impurities from crude oil before further refining.
